Auntré Hamp is Black. His best friend is Latino. That might surprise some people, especially in the American South where Auntré lives, but to him it couldn’t be more natural.

“We have a lot of things in common,” said the 25-year-old Georgia State University student who is pursuing a masters degree in public health. “We both have strong family bonds and face a lot of the same discrimination.”
